The 2012 Windsurfing world championships for Techno293, Raceboard Youth and Raceboard Masters are set to be hosted from August 11th through the 19th at the International Sailing Center Medemblik.

The IJsselmeer is one of Europe’s largest inland waters with a length of 70 km and a width of 20 km
near to the shorelines of the North Sea and gateway to the Atlantic. This gives the IJsselmeer best
chances of perfect conditions hosting sailing events. Enough space is available to keep race courses away from nautical route’s.

The Netherlands has weather conditions that meet requirements for open sailing dinghy racing on the IJsselmeer from the end of March till the beginning of October.

70 km north from Amsterdam Schiphol airport (65 km motorway) you'll find the small town Medemblik on the IJsselmeer coast. A well known racing location for Olympic class windsurfers. Medemblik has a long history with hosting one of the ISAF World Cup events, formerly known as the Spa Regatta.
